1. Turn off your phone. This may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s amazing how many of us are tethered to our phones, even when we’re not using them. A study by the Pew Research Center found that Americans check their phones an average of 52 times per day. That’s more than once an hour! If you want to truly unplug this weekend, try leaving your phone at home or turning it off completely. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy the peace and quiet.

2. Disconnect from social media. Social media is a huge time-sink, and it can also be a major source of stress. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your social media feeds, take a break this weekend and log out of all of your accounts. You might be surprised at how much better you feel when you’re not constantly bombarded with updates from people you don’t even know.

3. Spend time in nature. Getting outside and connecting with nature is a great way to de-stress and unplug. Studies have shown that spending time in nature can improve mood, reduce stress, and boost creativity. So this weekend, make a point of spending some time in your local park, forest, or beach. You’ll be glad you did.
